Carter Tool now has a machine shop facility with over 4000 square feet, complete with modern up to date equipment, including CNC machining center and CNC turning centers. We are also able to create CAD (computer aided design) drawings of your parts or to import your DXF files into our CAM (computer aided machining) system which allows us to cut programming time to a minimum while still maintaining part accuracy and quality. Production capabilities also extend into the area of cutting gears, both internal and external. Our gear hob will handle both spur and helical gears with diameters up to 30" while the gear shaper will cut both internal and external gear teeth and splines. Other abilities include OD grinding as well as production sawing of various materials up to 14" in diameter.
